Welcome To Beyond Third!

This group aims to allow advanced-level dancers to further develop their dancing skills.

All experienced dancers who appreciate good technique, are comfortable with advanced-level figures, and who have a good sense of timing and phrasing are welcome to join the group.

What to Expect

Idea exchange and constructive feedback between group members

Minimal walkthroughs, working towards dancing from briefs

Attention to technique with individual critique from teachers

Video recording to be used extensively for reviews and critique

High Impact dancing at the last hour of each session (optional participation)

Teachers

Most sessions are led by teachers who are members of the group, some by guest teachers.
Teachers for Fall 2025:

Venue

New location: dance studio with a sprung floor at Jörgen Dance, Studio A (room C126)
5 minute walk from Dupont Subway Station to the building
You can park for free on the part of Kendal Ave south of Dupont St (8 minute walk from there); a paid parking on campus near the building - $8 flat rate;

Schedule

We usually have classes once every two weeks on Friday nights

Fall 2025 (all 8 days are Fridays)

  • September 12
  • September 26
  • October 3
  • October 24
  • November 7
  • November 21
  • December 5
  • December 19

Time

  • Classes start at 7 pm
  • 7 pm to 8:10 pm – high Impact dancing for dancers who can dance with high stamina and advanced level of technique
  • High Impact part is optional
  • 8:15 pm to 9:30-9:45 pm – main group (please come at 8:00 pm to warm yourself up)

How to join?

  • All experienced dancers who appreciate technique, are comfortable with advanced-level figures, and who have a good sense of timing and phrasing are welcome to join the group. Check out what to expect and our program.
  • The goal of the group is to help dancers to keep and improve their dancing skills. It requires regular practice, so we encourage local dancers to become regular members of the group
  • If you are an experienced Scottish Country dancer passing through Toronto who is looking for a challenging evening of dancing, we would love for you to join our class!

Fees

  • Payment at the door:
    • $10 without the high impact part of the class (start 8:15 pm)
    • $15 for the whole class, including high impact (start 7:00 pm)
  • Payment for the whole season saves the cost of one class
  • Payments by cash, cheque, or e-transfer
  • E-transfer to the email address published in Contacts noting your name and what classes you are paying for
